Autumn is the "gold" season.  The days are shorter, the air is crisper, and the landscape shifts to golds and russets.  The needles of the Western Larch - one of the few deciduous conifers in the US - turn a bright gold.  The plant life in the lake starts receding.  We start using the fireplace and wood stove and wearing sweaters around the house.  And again, oh the views!
